SEAL Defensive Pistol and Holster Class

For the first time in our ten year history,  Bullets & Bagels is proud to offer a rigorous, dynamic, defensive pistol skills class focused on holster use led by 20 year SEAL Team 1 veteran and renowned instructor Dorr Overby. This class is designed for shooters who have their own handgun and understand the basics of sight acquisition, trigger control and holster use using "magazine-fed" semi-automatic pistols.

This special program is a full-day, foundational pistol class designed for experienced shooters who want to learn how to shoot and manipulate their firearms properly with a defensive/combat mindset.  By the end of the class, you'll better understand your weapon systems, be more confident with using your pistol and you'll have a solid understanding of the fundamentals so you can practice the skills you learn on your own.

 Who is this class designed for?

 

The class is designed for experienced shooters who are ready to learn how to shoot and manipulate a pistol properly with a defensive/combat mindset.

What topics are covered? 

• Pistol fit/form/function (i.e. understanding the platform and setting it up for your body and specific use)
• Belt/Holster set up
• Optic setup
• Zeroing principals and zero confirmation
• 7 Fundamentals (stance, grip, trigger control, etc.)
• Recoil management
• Reloads
• Moving Drills
• Target Transitions

 What are the class's gear requirements? 

• Semi-automatic pistols of your choice.
• Proper gun belt holster (specific to your firearm) and pistol mag pouches.
• At least 3 magazines for each firearm.
• At least 500 rounds of ammo total.
• Eye and ear protection.
• Comfortable shoes. Most of the day, we will be on our feet.
• Sunscreen and a hat (Optional, but we will spend a lot of time in the sun.)
• Drinks and food.

Can anyone attend the class?  

Students must know how to operate and manipulate their firearms safely. There will be some physicality required, but the level is adjusted to the shooters' capability and not overly strenuous.  The physical requirements to participate are NOT "operator" level" but participants are expected to move and shoot.  Please contact us at dorr@tacticalhyve.com for questions regarding qualifications. 

Students must be a current member of Bullets & Bagels, at least 21 years old or 18+ with a legal guardian, and due to the Department of State ITAR regulations, tactical training is only available to US Citizens/Legal Residents.

Note (1)   Prospective students are required to have completed one of the intermediate pistol classes offered by Bullets & Bagels.  

Note (2)   This is NOT a first-time, new shooter's class.   

Note (3)  12 students maximum.   

Note (4)  Membership in Bullets & Bagels is REQUIRED to take this class.
